AiSolve Debuts WePlayVR in North America at IAAPA, Single Player Location Based VR Attraction Gets Huge Response

December 5, 2017

The 2017 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo, IAAPA for short, broke attendance records with nearly 40,000 people gathered in Orlando to explore the finest in theme park games, rides, food and attraction technology. It felt like we had every last person through our virtual reality arcade attraction, WePlayVR.

Over the course of four days, we hosted nearly a thousand family entertainment center owners, theme park design companies and leisure attraction operators. All were eager to try WePlayVR games ‘Mayan Adventure’ and ‘Alien Invasion.’ Our distribution partner, Bandai Namco, put us square in the middle of their expo zone and shared their amazing staff to help put attendees through the VR experiences. A big thanks once again to Bandai Namco for believing in WePlayVR and supporting the expansion of our product!

AiSolve’s CEO, Devi Kolli, and president of North America, Shauna Heller, were going non-stop throughout IAAPA, sharing the WePlayVR product roadmap with potential clients and hosting private demos while CRO Pranay Kamat and Head of Engineering Peter Lamberti connected with potential owner operators who wanted to discuss key features of WePlayVR’s operating show control system and pod hardware. Pranay and Peter are instrumental in making WePlayVR as invincible as it is today, from the software and operating system all the way through to the hardware. Watching them see how passionately people respond to WePlay was so pleasing.

IAAPA marked several occasions for us here at AiSolve.  First, it was the public premiere of our second title, ‘Alien Invasion.’ Reaction to that puzzle-based action experience game was uniformly outstanding. A better premiere could not have been imagined. You’ll have to watch our new reaction video to see how much people love playing ‘Alien Invasion.’ Second and more significant though was the fact that IAAPA marked the first major, large-scale debut for WePlayVR in North America.

With our office in Los Angeles hosting private demos daily we’re locking in studio themed entertainment and IP partnership programs. Look for some exciting announcements on the fruits of those labors soon. But there is nothing like IAAPA: where tens of thousands of curious and motivated owners, operators and designers gather specifically to find the latest and greatest in theme park attractions. The scale of reach is unrivaled and we were thrilled to find so many of those people lining up to try WePlay.

The highlight of our four days in Orlando was Thursday morning when we showcased first level gameplay of our third title, ‘Clock Tower’. Select partners were put into a headset and sent into the world of ‘Clock Tower’ for an intense four minute glimpse into the future of VR free-roaming gaming. Genuinely, we’re doing something incredibly new and different with ‘Clock Tower’ and we feel that it is going to define a completely new, completely unvisualized and unexperienced style of immersive gaming that will take people’s breath away.  It’s fun to think that we’ll be ushering in a new era of VR while it’s still such a young and changing industry. ‘Clock Tower’ is scheduled to ship in early February 2018.

It’s hard to believe 2017 is almost over while we’re still busy planning WePlay’s future, but time sure flies when you’re having fun in VR!

We have many people to thank for making IAAPA 2017 such a success for AiSolve and WePlayVR, such as our trusted partners Bandai Namco and Amusement Services International (ASI) for their support throughout IAAPA and beyond. To attendees who stopped by, we thank you for being such spirited players and savvy owners who see the potential and promise of having a WePlayVR at your venue. 2018 will be an exciting year for us all.
